Here’s how it works
So simple! Pick your virtual option, plan it, run it, record it, and score serious bling!
If you can imagine it, you can complete it! Decide whether you are virtually running or walking the 10K or 5K, register, and plan the execution of your run or walk.
Run or walk anywhere anytime and be a part of the fun of the Vamos AZ Run! You may complete it outside on a course you create with your mobile running and walking app or even with another event you participate in and complete. Maybe it will be a paved path, track, or even a trail. You may complete it indoors too. Maybe it will be on a treadmill at home or at the gym or even walking around the mall. Do it solo or complete it with your friends and family or with your running or walking group buddies. Only you’ll be able to decide.
Sport some serious bling! Log your run or walk, take a few pictures, and post one or two to the Vamos AZ Run Facebook page.

ABOUT THE COURSE ROUTES
Whether you are running to win or doing a fun, leisurely run or walk, you are sure to enjoy the beauty of the South Mountain, the Sierra Estrella Mountain ranges, Cesar Chavez Park, and Alvord Lake with its very own island.
The chip-timed 10K and 5K courses use a mixture of concrete and dirt trails with a couple of stretches across paved streets. Wind your way through Cesar Chavez Park and Montana Vista and experience desert trails and grassy areas. The 1-Mile fun run (not timed) uses paved paths around Alvord Lake. The 10K and 5K also go around Alvord Lake.
Course routes may vary slightly on race day and will be well marked to help keep you on track.

HOW TIMING RESULTS ARE RANKED
Overall
Male and female collectively ranked by chip time.
Age Group
Male and female separately ranked in 5-year increments by chip time. Age group divisions 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 and over are used for each.
Gender
Male and female separately ranked by chip time.
Teams
A team can compete in multiple race categories by having at least five members in each and qualifies for group results in a race category by having at least five members with valid race results. The team’s top five qualifying members in the race category are used to compute the team’s overall placement.
PERSONAL INFORMATION & YOUR RACE ENTRY
For each participant to receive email and text notifications on race day, or a participant feedback survey, make sure each registered participant has a unique email address and cell phone number, and not a landline.
If you have accidentally typo’d during your registration or registered another participant with inaccurate information, it will remain incorrect in race day results unless you take necessary steps to identify and correct it.
Participating with inaccurate information in your race entry such as gender and birthdate, or participating as someone else affects everyone, not just you.
Always make sure your information is accurate including taking steps to transfer your race entry to someone else when needed. Doing so is free.
Validate the information in your registration confirmation at the time of receipt as well as on the results monitors on race day or online immediately following your completion of the race. Pay particular attention to gender, birthdate or age group division, and the spelling of your name.
In advance of the event, to correct a discrepancy in your race entry or to transfer it, go to change requests, or you can make changes onsite during pre-packet pickup or at registration.
If you identify a discrepancy in your race entry upon completing the race, go to the timing station near the finish line before finalization of results and have it reviewed for correction. After results close, you can send an email to support@racelookup.com for review to determine what, if anything, can be done to address your concern.
CORRECTLY WEARING YOUR BIB
Correctly wearing your bib will help ensure accurate reads as you cross timing points and ultimately will help ensure a timing result that is recordable. It will also help make sure a race crew member does not stop you on the course as a result of not correctly displaying your bib.
Always place your bib on your front torso unobstructed. Alternatively, it is okay to attach your bib to an upper thigh facing forward. Do not bend the timing chip, remove the foam tape covering the timing chip or put the bib anywhere else on your body including the back of your torso or where it is hidden. The foam tape, in addition to helping ensure timing chip reads, also helps prevent moisture from getting onto the timing chip from sweat or rain. Keep your bib away from liquid.
If needed, safety pins are available at onsite registration to help you attach your bib to your clothing.
DEACTIVATING YOUR BIB
If you start the race and for any reason do not complete the full course, make sure you go to the timing station to have your bib deactivated. Not doing this can place you into race results in error and affect the result placements and awards of those who did complete the race.
PARTICIPATING IN A RACE CATEGORY
You may not participate in any race category where you are not registered. Instead, use the “Transfer my race entry to another race category” to transfer into a new race category, if you are wanting to participate in a different race category not matching your registration — view change requests for details on correctly transferring your race entry into a new race distance.
PARTICIPATING AS A TEAM
The initial member registering for the race will be able to create their team during race registration. Additional members will then select their team from the team drop-down.
Each team member’s race result will indicate their team name, so you do not need to qualify for team results to be recognized as a team.
To compete, you must have at least five members in the same race category. Your team can compete in multiple race categories by having at least five members in each.
A team qualifies for group results in a race category when it has at least five members with valid race results. That team’s top five qualifying members in the race category are used to compute the team’s overall placement.
AID STATIONS
Water Stations
Water stations are approximately every 1.5 miles to 2.5 miles for the 10K and the 5K. Water will also be available at the start, finish and expo.

Park toilets will be available at various locations near the start, finish and expo, and varying areas of the park. Main locations can be viewed on the course maps.
Medical
A first aid kit will be available at the start and finish for minor incidents. If you or someone you are observing needs medical assistance, please notify a race crew member. If you believe you or someone else may be experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately.
PARTICIPANT FOOD & BEVERAGE
Light refreshments will be available to participants at the refreshment table before and after the 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile while supplies last.
